We investigate how local Arctic conditions can inform better places to grow, spend time and build. Sun, wind, terrain and materials connect our work with microclimate, landscape and architecture.
Through analyses, models and design studies, we explore shelter, solar access and thermal mass. We turn this work into proposals and development projects.
Arctic ilua is one application: a greenhouse for Arctic conditions. Other applications include sheltered courtyards and spaces between indoors and outdoors. Our horticultural project in Narsarsuaq is a separate, connected strand.
